The National Planning Policy Framework was revised in response to the Proposed
reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework and other changes to the
Planning system consultation on the 12th December 2024 and set out the
government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be
applied.

The revised framework replaces the previous nation Planning Policy Framework
published in March 2012, revised in July 2018, updated in February 2012, revised in
July 2021, updated in September 2023 and revised in December 2023.
